After a day of warm fuzzy feelings and good food, the grim realities of our family’s financial situation resurfaced slightly changed. Last week my husband was re-hired by an old employer, so things will get better soon. In the mean time we’re two months behind on rent and most of our bills. Luckily we have a fantastic landlord. The heating system went out a couple days ago and he’s bringing in people to fix it today. A lot of landlords would have kicked us out rather than fix things for…

.... which sucks because I'd planned a good few days of fun and frolicking in Bristol this weekend. I'm staying in a lovely flat up in Clifton (all being well) and I've got loads of room to hoop and play around and generally enjoy this city again. But there are house-warmings to go to and people to reconnect with, all of which I feel slightly less inclined to do when feeling drained. Perhaps it was just the long motorway drive and the not sleeping well last night, perhaps a night in with Maddy…

So- A fiew years back I got really into cloth menstrual pads, so thats what everyone got for christmas (with an opening warning as to not embarrass anyone ;0) ).I got the reply, "ummmm..... thanks Amber, you're a weirdo". Last year, I got really in to knitting so everyone got scarves. I got "uummmmm, thanks Amber. This is kinda neat". This year, i'm spreadin' the hoop love and made everyone a set of hoops, a big one and 2 minis. I wonder what their responses are going to be ;0)

This has been the best hoop month! I was kind of in a funk in October, not hooping too much... just kind of overwhelmed by the day to day. I felt like every time I picked up my hoop, everything was off. There was no flow...I tend to dramatize... and so, was wondering if my hoop vibe was over... :(
then November happened! yay! I dunno what the change was, but this month has been a total resurgence of hoop bliss. Work is great, classes are going…

I had an MRI done this morning, since an X-Ray done a few weeks ago didn't reveal the secret of what is wrong with my left leg.
That totally sucked!
The whole process took two and a half hours, the last 45 minutes of it being the most excruciating as it had the longest stretches of imaging. I had to stay perfectly still, and the last bit just killed my back. I'd been able to drift off to a light nap, but the spasms in my protesting back snapped me awake. Thankfully, I had…

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). A chore is a chore only when done with a heavy heart. You know this, which is why you approach your responsibilities with a smile. Right now it's for "them," but soon you'll be doing exactly what you want to be doing.
oh good. this makes it all better. my to do list is getting a smutch outta hand. i just want to leave campus now and go finish everything that school has slowed down! also, having some hoop time would be amazing. maybe tomorrow? maybe not.…

Well, things have been incredibly hectic, even not including my need to wrestle my hoop away from my kids in order to practice.:) But in spite of needing to sneak away to use it, ;) I can confidently get it going in both directions, and maintain it for a good while!
I'm really feeling my abs working, and I'm starting to notice a few things...my balance issue is mostly triggered when I'm hooping to the right...which is interesting. And I am finding it a remarkably good workout for my…

On my recent travels out west, a lot of things came to mind on how people spend their time on vacation: what they choose to do and what they see. Thousands of people flock to stand in the same spots as other humans to take the exact photo that others took (of some incredible view). Does this make it unique? Does it have the same wow factor to the last person to see it compared to the first ever? I guess that’s a loaded question, one of subjectivity and unfair point, really. It is no fault of…

Wow. Lately I've been browsing the Hoop Camp Group in California-totally opposite where I'm from but what a cool way to visit California. A weekend @ Hoop Camp... *daydreaming*
All of a sudden, I hear about HoopPath: FLORIDA Warrior Path + Brecken Rivera.
I'm not familiar with Brecken Rivera but I will be as soon as I start my hooping kicks-cyber searching extravaganza
... but I did see a video of Jonathan Baxter spinning out to Tool "Aenima" in the Planting Seeds…

the last couple of months have been pretty crappy. i was working a job that left me incredibly stressed out every day and had made my anxiety in general almost unbearable. i lost interest in a lot of things, unfortunately hooping was one of the them.
so, i finally worked up the courage and quit my job. now i work for an engineering firm and couldn't be happier :) i feel productive all day, and like i'm actually contributing to the business instead of just sitting at a desk tied to a…

So, I have probably mentioned that I am moving to Georgia in less than 4 months! (EE) but I have been sooooo afraid of moving cause in Boulder, Colorado where I live now there is a large hooping community that is wonderfully encouraging. I am sooo sad to think of leaving it, yet I find it entirely too encouraging to see people on this site from ALLLLLL over the place :-D
Besides this I realized that converting someone to hooping isn't too terribly difficult it really has its own draw…

Well, I broke my first item with an out of control hoop today. I was practicing isolations. (Still no luck at getting them to work.) Luckily it was only a trivet and I had an extra one, but I thought just a few seconds before that I really shouldn't be playing around near the trivets because I might break one.

I got my fire hoop yesterday and I did my first burn with it for a few family members. It is last years model from Hoop Drum. I got a great deal on it from a hooper in Florida. She had received the hoop as a gift from an ex-boyfriend and had never even used the hoop!
I am going to burn again tonight with two of my best friends!
So exciting! wOOt! :)
