Since I discovered The Girl can hoop, she and I started plotting and planning for her to do it in the talent show. She's only been hooping about a month, other than just waist hooping. I've been doing it since this summer, but she didn't become interested in learning tricks until just recently when she discovered she could do some really neat things instinctively.

Last Christmas, ( in 2010) I asked my husband to pay for me to get certified thought Hoopnotica to teach Hoop Classes. I was naive and at the time did not realize that:

1) Nobody really gives a flying rats butt whether I am certified or not as long as I am an impressive hooper.

2) Most people who hire me didn’t/don’t know that there is such a thing as a “certified” hoop teacher.

So I've been hooping a couple months. I'm not as good as I'd like to be at this point because my living room is uber tiny and it's been pretty cold outside. (hasn't stopped me from going out when it's just below freezing and there's no wind) I need an indoor place to practice. Where a zillion people aren't going to give me weird looks. So. For some reason I find hooping with someone way more motivating than hooping by myself. Yay!  Started an informal hoop jam night with my girlfriend.  I actually do have a hoop mama and she's been hooping for over ten years, and surprisingly I'm the one who got her back into regular practice!  She's really good at multi hooping and dancing, and we both know different tricks so it's excellent every time we get together.  We took my boombox to the cowboy bar and they let us use the loft balcony area with high ceilings... pretty much drowned out the bad music with dubstep.  And…
