Hoop Certification? Where to find the $$

I am going on 5 years in the hoop.  I have had two babies and totally enjoyed my time.  Last year I taught some impromptu hooping in the park.   It took off  big for me...  People who came out told me they were comfortable learning from me. They told me that if I can do it they know they can to... So on and so forth.  It made me feel good about myself and made me feel great as these wonderful people found love and joy in the hula hoop and begin to progress doing vortex's and step…

Just Getting Started

Hello Whoever Is Reading This,

I'm A Newbie On This Site, And In Fact, I'm A Newbie To Hooping In General. In Fact, I Just Started. Literally About Two Weeks Ago.

The Original Reason For Weighted Hula Hooping: Losing Weight. About A Year Ago, I Was About 160 Pounds. I'm 5'6"-5'7" And Considered Myself Very Pudgy. Since Then, I Have Lost Approximately 15-20 Pounds. I Know, It Doesn't Really Sound Like A Lot, But Working At A Dessert Shop, Keeping Up With School And Living Life…

Looking for a Cure to the Hoop Workshop Blues (Caution: venting included)

I really need some encouragement because I'm really low right now about my hoop workshop. Any positive feedback will definatly be welcomed. I look to hoopers in place with more established workshops and communities for help. So although this post has a negative feeling because I'm frustrated, I really am looking for any kind of support and advice because I don't really have many people I can pull it from in my community.

Saturday I hosted a hooping workshop. I thought it went really…

Hoopnotica and Hooping Life

In May, I'm trying to bring The Hooping Life to Kentucky.  I'm currently fundraising the money for it.  My goal is $500.  I'm hoping to have vendors and raffle off an LED, hoops, and a polypro.  Basically it depends on how much I have to put into this.  If only 25 people donated $20, I'd be cool.  I've already donated $40.  I really want this to happen.  I really want to make this a free thing in my community to pass the word about hooping.  I'm even willing to sell…

The motivation and passion is there... but so is the confusion.

Hi hoopers! I've never posted anything on Hoop City before so forgive me if I ramble, but I need HELP!!

Since being introduced to the world of Hooping, music festivals and the general lifestyle that follows (thank you Shambhala 2010!) I've been obsessed with the idea of doing something else with my life. Something that I can do where I can help others, be creative and at the same time improve the quality of my own life. The problem with that? Nothing, except for the fact that…

Knee Hooping

So, I know how to knee hoop but I have the hardest time bringing it right back up.  I must have tried several different ways to do it and I can't get the darn thing to move up my body with just using my legs.  I can grab it no problem but getting my own legs to do it no bueno.

I am at the point of giving up.  Anyone have any suggestions??  I have been practicing this for months and months.  It's a real bruise to my hooping ego that I can't get it to go back…

You know you are passionate about hooping when......

You know you are passionate about hooping when:

-You have a million things on your "to do" list and you push it all aside to have an hour of pure bliss in hooping.

-You are depressed and need a lift. The music plays, your body moves, and you are in your own space with mind, body, and soul smiling.

-You wake up and the first…

Make me a better person

To think that I've become so infuatuated with just wanting to hoop.

Get to that point where you're excited to wake up and can't stop thinking about hooping.

This is great This is my reality.

I've been wondering how this could fufill my life. I was at a summer festival called " Schwagstock", it fascinated me a simple round pipe could manuever around the human body so effortlessly. Every girl from young to old, big to small that hooped furthered my…

Hooping at School

So i don't know what to do, again nobody came to my club. I don't think i'm making it a club, i think i'm just going to bring hoops and just hoop on my own time and if anyone ever wants to try, they can. This time wasn't that bad, i wasn't really expecting anyone to come so i didn't have high hopes and that made me feel a little better when nobody showed but it still hurt. I was already having a hard day as it is, i was stressed with school work and my own problems and i've been depressed the…

Happy Hooper Day

Today was amazingly awesome. I brought my hoop to school and 15 minutes into dance I got stopped by a lady walking her dog. I was hooping on the walk path near a lake and lots of trees and nature. But anyways, she stopped me and asked if i was a performer or something and did i do shows because she thought what i did was really cool. I told her that i didn't preform yet other than practicing in videos and just hooping in public is a form of performing but it's nothing compared to hooping on…

Thought for the day...

Got this from a puzzle on www.cryptograms.org:

"We are under exercised as a nation. We look instead of play. We ride instead of walk. Our existence deprives us of the minimum of physical activity essential for healthy living. "

— John F. Kennedy

Yesterday, the cartoon below was in our local paper:

Maybe if more people had listened to President Kennedy when he said…

People's Reactions To My Hooping

I've had a friend say it looks easy, and so I said "do you want to try?" and i explained the trick and did it in slow mo. He tried with no luck and then handed me back my hoop, saying " okay that's impressive." :D

I live on a street corner and when i get out my hoop, people slow down.

Little kids getting off the bus stop and look and smile, I smile back :)

One little girl ran over and asked if she could try, so i showed her a few easy tricks and we giggled together as we…

Summer Jewel Collection

The Pixie Hoops team are excited to share our new summer hoop collection with our Hoop family! We thought we would take a moment to tell you a bit of the background story and inspiration that we drew on when creating this collection. We were inspired by jewels, by luscious rich vibrant colors and of course, SPARKLES! We wanted to create a summer collection that would inspire you to hoop in front of the sunset, to dance in the grass at festivals, to climb…
