So, I'm walking through the local big box store, arguing with myself about whether or not to get the kettlebell I want. Workout equipment, or gas for the car?  Of course, maintaining my means of transportation to work won.

I can't believe this is my first journal entry! I should really be blogging about my hooping en devours, its so much fun. Nothing focuses on the individual as much as blogging, hmm?

 

Anyway, I made a hula hoop group on Facebook and I'm so happy about it. I created it about a week ago. We are currently 90 members strong! About half of the group is regularly active, the other half I believe ( or hope ) at least checks in. I'm just so happy that it's blossoming so quickly. People…

 

I'm moving to Seattle in 2 weeks. The 17th. I'm taking a backpack, a bag, and a few hoops. Flying Southwest, free baggage check... one of the last airlines to offer that for domestic flights, ridiculous. Preparing to move has been stressful, I find that all I want to do is hoop and spin some fire. It grounds me, it centers me, makes me feel alive and in harmony with all that is. Well, it's been a month since I started hooping.  I can't believe it.  I've gone from, 'I suck'  to being able to keep the hoop up for several minutes at a time, floating a bit, halos, and hip hooping.  I've also made several of my own hoops including a water hoop.  (that takes some getting used to.)_I've gotten neck hooping down pretty well, too, but it doesn't go anywhere else... not to chest…

 

So much snow fell over night, it like a a giant fluffy cloud outside.

Wishful thinking....

Last year was the most amazing winter ever here....I think we had snow once that lasted for a couple of days, and that was it. Never in my life had I experienced a milder winter. This year is obviously not a…  

This past evening I decided to be friendly and ask my friend in my night class if she wanted to grab some late dinner in town. Mind you, her and I used to be the BEST of friends, for about 3 years and lost touch generally speaking over this past summer. So she in turn invited me to a night of fun with some old friends I hadn't seen since summer as well. We were having a good time and one of my other male friends had brought up my hooping because he is interested in losing weight, and so we got…  

I had the chance last night to win 100 dollars at a hula hoop contest a local bar was holding. I heard about it because these two women were watching me hoop at the "first friday" event downtown and when I took a break they came up to me and told me straight up that I needed to be at that bar at midnight so I could compete. While I was out at dinner with my friends I thought about it really hard but decided to pass it up, and even with mulling it over I'm not completely sure why I did so. I…  

Hoop dance has for me, like most people who have achieved some sort of skill with it, enriched my life in ways I never thought it could. It makes me happy, it calms me down, and most importantly, it gives me something unique that I can be very proud of. I wan't necissarily insecure before, but there wasn't anything that I felt set me apart from the rest of my peers.

So, I have probably mentioned that I am moving to Georgia in less than 4 months! (EE) but I have been sooooo afraid of moving cause in Boulder, Colorado where I live now there is a large hooping community that is wonderfully encouraging. I am sooo sad to think of leaving it, yet I find it entirely too encouraging to see people on this site from ALLLLLL over the place :-D



Besides this I realized that converting someone to hooping isn't too terribly difficult it really has its own draw…

Who is all? I have no idea! I really hope to make some hoop friends on this website, but I have no idea how to go about doing that, so if you're reading this... :)



Soo I'm going to graduate from college in two weeks. I'm skipping graduation to go to Summer Camp (festival in Illinois) I'm goign to buy my first LED hoop from Headyhoops while i'm there and i'm so excited! Then we'll come back and then STARSCAPE and ALL GOOD.

so i posted some pix for you all out there who were wondering abt the superhooper madness. i went to a costume party and brought my hoop to share the love. needless to say my hoop took a beating so many people wanted to spin. and i let them. but i decided that when my psi hoop comes its ok to be selfish =o) it should be here by next week. im so excited patrick is such such an awesome soul. i cant wait to film the hoop. im learning lots of new things w/ my sacred g hoops. isolations are my love…
