So, my friend Olivia and I have decided to host a hoop jam for World Hoop Day on October 4th.
The Jam is going to happen in Calgary, Alberta.
It will happen in the Kensington area, on the southeast side of the Sunnyside LRT station at the Cargo Container Park (there is no real address for this place, but it is very easily accessible by the train. The train address is 938C 3 Avenue NW.)
It will start at approximately 3pm and run until…

My Hooping with Kids hoop teacher training course is half price (only $99) for the next 3 days. If you want to earn a nice side income (or career change) by sharing the joy of hooping with kids, I'd love to have you join us. When I started doing kids classes and parties I added an extra $10,000 to my biz in the first year alone. Here's the link to learn more:…

Since I started dancing with a poly-pro hoop I have felt so much more confident with my hooping. The poly-pro has enhanced my skills and made it easier to hoop. I've learned so many moves recently. Behind the back elbow pass, behind the back pass, chest hooping, my issolations have been better. All in all I freaking love my new hoop. :)

My name is Amanda Emsland and I have been on a personal healing journey for over 4 years which helped me create a philosophy for life and business/non-profit called I Am Love In Action, Healing Ourselves Heals The World!
Recently this philosophy lead me to Rwanda where I hosted a number of projects, one of which was called Love Hoop Rwanda. This is a call to Hoopers around the world to take your skills to the streets, the mountains, the places others are afraid…
I've unlocked secret hidden powers with hula hooping. Queens of the Stone Age is such a real possibility for me to dance to live on stage, but I don't want to dance for them anymore.
I've finally got why I was so angry with the online hoop community. I didn't understand why most couldn't feel the music or dance more than they discuss dancing. We as a community live in disharmony. Spending more time indoors than outdoors effects the soul. Spending more…

It is amazing to me that I have been hooping for nearly two years. I often remember how I struggled with basic waist hooping in the beginning. I would watch hooping tutorials on YouTube and be absolutely amazed at what some people can do with a hoop. It’s almost magical. The simple beauty that one person and one hoop can make astounds me, still.
I have come a long way down my personal hoop path since the day I bought my first hoop from Wal-Mart in the children's toy section.…

Here's my 1 Month Hooping video.
Note: I'm doing these videos for the sole purpose of recording my progress. I don't have a mirror to practice in front of, so I just record myself and watch the video afterwards. It's very helpful because I can watch it whenever I want and every time I watch, I find new things to work on. I'm not…

It is safe to say that I am madly in love with hooping. I love the lightness my spirit feels after a good hoop session. As each day passes I can feel my muscles aching with growth and it is so uplifting! I feel as if other things in my life are aligning themselves because I have let go of so much stress through my practice that everything just seems easier than before. It is amazing that something as small as a hoop can facilitate this kind of change in my life. I am only on day 5 and I…

I've been hooping for about 8 months off and on now and I still feel like a beginner. There is so much I still want to be able to achieve as far as flow, creativity, and dance goes.
Watching all the amazing hoopers out there that flow and move with grace, are able to dance with their hoop like it's a partner,…
Hello Beautiful Hoopers!! This is my first entry and I am so excited to be a part of such a vibrant online community. A little about myself, I am 25 years old and live in Oregon. I work as a Nanny and I have a deep passion for Early Childhood Education. I love to experience new things either in my own backyard or, when I am lucky enough, a new and exciting place aboard. I like to dabble in learning other languages; French, Spanish, Thai, and of course 'dirty' words in all the languages…
Hey all! Wow--I have really been neglecting my poor little hooping blog, haven't I? The past few months have been all work (schoolwork and job applications, unfortunately) and less play, so I haven't had a lot of time to make a really detailed post. (Come to think of it, I have a final project due on Friday, so I should probably be working on that now... Buuut, this is way more fun. :) )
So, as the title suggests, I've finally hit my one-year hooping mark! YAYYY!!! :D :D :D…

How to Start a Local Hoop Jam
Back in 2010, when I first started hooping, I struggled to find other hoopers in my area (especially since I live in a smaller, rural town). Since I didn’t really know anyone who already hooped, I decided to get people into hooping! Since 2010, I’ve aided in fostering a local hoop community in my area. It all began by starting up a local hoop jam.
So, what is a “hoop jam”?
A hoop jam serves as an…

“Hula hoop?” *puzzled look on face*
“Yes, hula hoop”

NOTE: A lot of these tips may seem like no brainers but a lot of these bulletpoints really helped me DANCE and truly connect with my hoop instead of feeling like i'm just running through the motions. Just throwin' that out there hahah. Enjoy!
After three months of hooping with my first polypro, it snapped in half. Conveniently right before I leave for the holidays as well!
It was really unfortunate that my…
