I am thinking about attending Hoop Camp 2013. I think this will be the only year I can swing it financially, but I am concerned that it won't be worth the expense. I can't drive that far (to Cali from MN) alone and so the plane tickets would add to the camp ticket amount. Anyone who has attended or is thinking about attending or not, would you please help and give me some advice or reasoning as to why you are or are not going?

I wasn't going to use this hoop journal, as I thought it was cheesy, but after watching today's recordings of myself, I just HAD to.

I've only recorded myself one other time, and it was maybe three weeks after starting hooping. [Significant Other's Name Redacted] filmed it for me, and I felt really awkward having him watch me and I kept thinking how stupid I looked.

Yesterday I had an AWESOME morning hooping before work, so I thought why not try it again today?…

Well Charlotte may not be as bad as originally thought. Like everything it just needs a little time to marinate. I preformed in charlotte for my first time this last friday night, it was exhilarating :) to get to be apart of something again. Sparkly patterns and polka dotted tracers are constantly invading my mind space. My 36" luna hoop just isn't doing it for me anymore. I have a serious case of smart hoop envy. I've been trying to hold off as long as I possibly can, especially since I'm not even nearing my one year hoopiversary, AND the high probability that I will really start to enjoy hooping a 34" vs a 36". I've also grown to really like the polypro that I was so quick to dismiss. The HDPE hoop feels like it's filled…

Here's today's new trick! I heard this move being called 'duck in & pop on' but that's too long, so I shortned it slightly- anyone else know another name for this one? It's groovy! But ow my head hurts from getting smacked so many times learning it. XD

Some people make this look so smooth- I find it pretty tough! I should probably reshoot this with a regular hoop because it looks so choppy with an LED light because you can tell it's not spinning when you step through and that it's just being held. I would need more light though! It was so dark and overcast today, I originally shot this with a regular hoop but switched to the led because you couldn't even see the hoop otherwise. XD
