I went to the gym today to practice, and things went pretty well as far as learning a new move. Still struggling with the one leg hooping and the pizza toss. But I think I may have learned something more important. I hope I can continue to use this. I found that up to now I have been manipulating the hoop to do tricks with it. That is good but it can only get you to a certain place. I think I will learn more if I let the hoop manipulate me! I was practicing what hoopgirl calls the "reverse dolphin". I have not been able to finish this move yet, but when I relaxed and followed the momentum of the hoop, I was not only able to do the move, but was able to flow into another move. Also, I did yoga before I left for the gym and I think that being open and relaxed is part of the equation as well. I hope this lesson "sticks".
