As a Happy woman, I vow to: dare to be happy - everyday.

Today I need to vow to be a happy woman big time.

I added the entire list in a past entry, and so far in my personal journal I have worked through the first two. I'm going down the list in order, well, just because it seems to work well. Today, I think I will write about the third here. My fingers are mingling pretty well with the keyboard, and I might be kind of sloppy with a pen and paper. And sometimes, funny enough, writing flow comes easier while typing.

Negativity can ease into your awareness, slowly building until you get enough to notice. Or, it can slam. No brakes. No asking if its okay. It just becomes you and you are left to fend for your Self. Furthermore, negativity can be Self generated.. well, I suppose, biologically or psychologically, it is always self generated, but I do want to compare to situations where someone else does something that hurts you, makes you mad, hits the wrong nerve... then although you choose how to react, they gave you the chance to even consider.

This happened yesterday. I won't go into the arbitrary details. I will say someone acted in a way that hurt me.. not astoundingly, but enough to cause me to encounter feelings not of the happy sort... and ironically, it involved happiness. A lot of thoughts went through my head... confrontation? mediation? just forget about it...?

So I went home and took a nap. It felt good. It left my thoughts and I was at ease, as well through the rest of the night. This morning, however, it was back - trying to settle in. Negativity is not welcome to settle... then it learns your wiring and will try to make a home.. so "The Way of the Happy Woman" list popped into my head. Perfect.

For today, I dare to be happy. With circumstances out of my control (the situation that started it), I will release any committment to feeling like it is my own and I must deal with it. For something so petty, I dare to move on with my day, and hereafter, let it go. I challenge myself to consciously build up fresh perspective and see a new light. My approach? Instead of dwelling on the shitty situation, I'll feel good instead. I'll be weightless. I will see the evolution of this array of feelings first hand.. I will let peace come over me, settle in a bit, and make itself a home.

I dare you to be happy - everyday - too.

This is beautiful! And something I live by daily.... when negativity comes and tries to makes its home, I quietly escort it out and say goodbye- I have a full house today, for today is my day! Today is full of peace and happiness!

Thank you Kristin! I feel ya. I feel so much better after writing this and then writing a few things in my paper journal :) It's so therapeutic! I just had a great a-ha moment. I don't know.. lately I have just come into myself so much and seen how much will power I have (and we all have) to do good for ourselves and create what we want out of our experiences. Cheers to that! oops.. it's a bit early :-)

Thanks for posting this as a reminder! I strive to keep negativity at bay - both the negativity I create internally and the external negativity that seems to bombard us all on a daily basis. As we all know, it's so very, very hard! As you say, though, we choose how to react and respond and ultimately responsibility lies within ourselves. Yes, let's be happy!

Yeah, anyone that says it is easy is crazy! But...I like to work at things. How are we to know just how good we can feel without perspective from the other side.. And the power of choice...well, a novel could be written! And yes, let's be happy on this fine Friday! :-)

I with ya girls! Positive energy requires a choice. Choose to find something good everytime you find something bad. Bless them both and choose the positive. Laugh at yourself and your loved ones everyday. I know there are challenging days which make you want to pull your hair out,,,turn it into a positive. (eg.) "yep, the dishwasher broke but at least it did'nt flood the kitchen while company was over."

Choose to be happy. choose to smile and live in the conscienceness of positive energy.

oh yeah...spinning the hoop does the same thing,,just sound better when it's written..hugggs ya!
