Feeling Non-Judgment/Non Comparison Practice

I have been incorporating hooping into my life path for about 3 years now. Off and on, slow and steady, at my own pace. It still lurks around me that little voice of comparison. It isn't loud like it used to be, it still lingers around wondering why I can't do certain moves that others pick up with ease. It all goes back to the practice of non comparison.

What breeds comparison? It all leads to the forms of ego which can take over like a terrible disease allowing no room for growth, self expression or creativity. Working through it can be messy, but always I come back, dig deep' and remember that there is only me, Unique in expression and in form, inspiration is the medicine to heal comparison.

Looking through others as they are a mere reflection to yours (and mine) capability to be. perform. teach.

We all start somewhere and continue on our paths to self discovery, discover the miracle within you and allow the universe to unfold all its surprises. I am pretty excited, and not as blue as before.

Compared by none. Inspired by all <3.

Happy Hooping!

hooping has generally made me more confident and self-loving, but ill tell you, yoga REALLY helped me with these kinds of issues. not only going to classes and seeing much more experienced yogis do these beautiful, graceful poses i wished i could do, but reading and delving deeper into yogic philosophy, too. i cant explain it, but somehow it helped. if youre into eastern philosophies, check out a few of the yogic sciptures like the yoga sutras, georg feuersteins books, or any other yoga books that seem of interest to you. hope that helps. peace

Spin Gypsy, I totally resonate with this. Yoga has been a path of practice of mine and all coming back to time, the illusion of how much or how little you have dictated by my ability to not be completely presence with my body. I get to practice at least once a week (class form) and stretch daily, however I don't get to come to my mat, offer my intention to myself and the universe as often as I liked.
