I got lots of hooping time in today. Mother Nature was surely smiling upon Atlanta, GA, because despite it being the end of January, it was sunny and warm outside, just perfect! I mentioned before that I've been a little frustrated at having such a small amount of tricks to work with. So I took the time to learn a new trick even if it wasn't one that just wowed me. I really think I need to go to a few classes soon where I can learn some new things with a bit of guidance.

I did a lot of work on my behind the back elbow pass, and I've actually got it to a point where I am very pleased with it. Someone posted a video here at hoopcity of Hoopalicious doing a shoulder hooping tutorial, and some things she said just really clicked, hit right on the thing that I was having trouble with. After watching that, I worked and worked and really did a lot of improving in the shoulder hooping area!

I also watched a video from Spinsterz-- my favorite Youtube hooping tutorial guy-- and learned how to do a duck-in. Of course, it's going to need a lot of work, but I've got the idea, and can do a really sloppy version of it at the present.

Then, after all the working on stuff, I used the playlist here and just let go and jammed for about 30 minutes.

Behind the back elbow pass, huh.  Yeah right.  :D  I always thought this was such an advanced trick I wouldn't be attempting for a year.  But I find myself halfway completing it all the time, by elbow hooping and then just grabbing it up behind my back.  Your post encourages me to try more, I watched that spinsterz video, and I think I'll be giving it more attention.

So that was a few weeks ago, I kept at it... what was once impossibly hard I can now do!  I honestly don't think I would have pushed myself to figure it out if not for your journal post here.  Thanks for the inspiration!
