So I'll start with the more positive things because, well, I like to stay positive. =) I just bought Safire's Budding hooper class and I can't wait to start working on everything. So much new information already and she hasn't even got close to everything up yet. I'm also about to start a beginner Yoga class in a few weeks and I can't wait. I really think Yoga will help me become more intune to myself and my soul. It might even help me with the stifled expression I've been feeling lately.

I was wayyyy sick over the weekend (it wasn't pretty) and I'm feeling pretty optimistic about getting better. I want to try some new hoop moves so bad but I know it will just make me feel worse to exert energy right now. I think I'll take it easy for one more day.

Now for the sad part of my day. The neighbors across my backyard leave their dog out ALL the time. I mean from 8:00 am until dark (and maybe longer...I just can't see out there anymore). I feel so bad for him that I can't even look out my back windows anymore. He has no shelter and is chained up to like a 5 foot chain. I called the Humane Society today but I just don't know how seriously they took my complaint. She said she would send somebody out but I know I'm not going to feel better until the dog is being treated properly. The owners completey ignore him....even when they walk outside to put trash out they just move right past him without saying hi or anything and he gets so excited to be let in or to see them. It breaks my heart. I feel so helpless....I know calling and reporting them is a good thing but I wish I could do more. Anyways...I'll keep you all updated on him and hopefully thing will change.

You have got to get to feeling better... I'm sorry you have been sick.. As far as for the dog that breaks my heart.. I am one of those crazy ppl that cries when that commerical comes on with the dogs and cats being mistreated and puppy mills. I am very tender hearted when it comes to animals b/c they can't defend themselves... I think u did the right thing. But, When they go outside and don't even acknowledge the dog... that is just wrong on so many levels and that dog will never judge them but just love them. The said thing is they r the ones missing out on the love of a best friend.. Well, sorry for all that.. I hope you get to feeling better......

I'm confident the humane society will make sure the dog is taken care of. A friend is the manager of our local shelter and those folks do everything within their power to help mistreated animals. If your folks are anything like ours, they WILL send someone out. Try not to let it bring you down, hoop sister.

Congrats on your new classes! I'll see you around the "budding" classroom!

Looking forward to seeing you in the hoop class! I do hope the Humane Society will help the dog out. If I could, I would have a farm so I could help every animal I come across and I would come get this doggy; this is how my mom ended up with 3 cats, because I keep rescuing animals. Please let us know what happens. If you have to, keep pestering the Humane Society until something is done.

it might be better to make sure that the shelter you called is a NO KILL....they may just come get the dog and take it and put it down, especially if he is being ignored, he may not have vaccines, be neutered and these are all odds against him in ANY shelter. i hate to be so blunt but it is something i deal with A LOT (i've been a vet tech for 10 years). I have to say that for the most part the humane societies are ALRIGHT i wouldnt give ANY of them a 5 star rating or anything. hell, even PETA euthanized @ 90% of its adoptables last year (so much for their ethical treatment)....oh geez, i cant even get started on this. anyway, hope you get to feeling better soon, i got sick @ a month ago and never did let myself get all the way better before i started life as normal again= still sick (ish)

You will love yoga!

I know how you feel about the dog. :( I had to watch a similar situation once, it is heartbreaking. I hope everything works out okay!

Thanks everybody. I'm definately going to call the humane society again sometime this week to make sure something is done. What makes me really annoyed is that I recently found out that as long as he has food, shelter, and water then it is perfectly legal to leave dogs outside 24/7. I've been thinking about going over and giving him a bone or just some affection but I know that is probably not the best idea since he may not be very friendly if he hasn't been socialized. Thanks for the input though. For now I'm just trying to not look out the window very often but that's hard because I care so much about animal welfare.

And I'm mucho excited to see everyone in the budding classroom. =)
