How old are you? 22

When did you first start hooping? I started seriously in February of 2009. Been addicted ever since.

Would you call yourself a beginner, intermediate or advanced hooper? Somewhere between beginner and intermediate.

How often do you hoop? Not often enough, sadly.

Do you have an indoor hoop space? Oh I wish!

Is there a hoop group where you live? A small one, and pretty casual.

Did you start it? No, that is not my strength to organize things.

Would you say that you are obsessed with or addicted to hooping? Yes, but it is an addiction that I don't get enough time for.

Have you posted hooping videos? How many? A few on Facebook. They aren't much, but it's always good to document.

Do you have friends nearby to hoop with? A few! They are some of the sweetest women!

Do you teach hooping? If so, how many people have you taught? Sort of...I work with sexually abused girls, ages 8-11. We hoop when the weather is nice.

What kind of songs do you listen to while hooping? Paul Simon is one of my favorites. Folksy music seems to be the best fit for my abilities and personal rhythm.

What is your favorite song right now? Hmm...I don't think I have one!

Do you buy hoops or make your own? I make all of mine!

Have you lost weight since starting to hoop? I've actually GAINED weight! And, no, it's not muscle.

What size is your favorite hoop? 36" diameter, 3/4" tubing. I forget the psi...

Are you comfortable hooping by yourself in a public place? Sometimes.

How did you learn the majority of the tricks you know today? BAXTER!

Who is your favorite hoop teacher? Baxter and Ann rock my socks!

What advice would you give to to beginner hoopers? Don't force yourself to learn new things too quickly.

Do you fire hoop? If not, do you want to? I never have, and I'm pretty scared to, but I'm sure I could if so desired.

Do own an LED hoop? Where did you get it? NOT YET! Someday though :)

How much time do you spend on safiredance.ning? Hadn't ever visited, but I will now!

What was the first trick you learned (besides waist hooping)? Pulling the hoop up from my waist to over my head.

What is the last trick you mastered? Knee hooping! Thank you Robbie

What trick so far was the hardest for you to learn? Shoulder hooping. Now I am obsessed with it!

Which one are you finding is almost impossible to get? Paddling/Breaking...

How many hoopers would you say live in your town/city? Probably a dozen or so.

Have you performed hooping in front of an audience? Not formally, but impromptu dances for friends/family.

Has anyone told you you were too old to be playing with a hula hoop? No! What a silly question...

What’s the worst injury you’ve acquired from the hoop? Hit myself in the ear, and knocked off my glasses. I've had bruises, but they never hurt.

Have you ever hooped naked? Hells yeah!

Have you been to a hoop camp/retreat? Which one? Hoop Path 2009, and I am ready for HP 2010!
