I haven't hooped much in the last few weeks; I've been ill with bronchitis twice in the last three months, and hooping doesn't mesh well with breathing difficulties.
I did finally get back in the hoop Saturday for what was supposed to be the December hoop jam, and while I enjoyed my circle time, it wasn't as much fun as I'd hoped. Kind of difficult to enjoy a party no one attends...
I've decided that for the time being, I"m suspending the hoop jams. I need to rediscover ther joy I found in hooping when I started almost two years ago, before I started hosting the jams. For the first six months of my hoop journey, it was just me, my hoops, tunes and camera. I was so into learning new moves and combos that it didn't matter if I was alone in the endeavor. I want to feel that again.
Don't get me wrong; if any South Mississippians are looking for a hoop buddy, I'm ready to rock it out, and I'd love to hear from you. It's just that, for now, I'm dropping the machete and taking off my pith helmet; my heart just isn't into trail blazing any more.
Comment by Theresa on December 15, 2011 at 8:49am Hang in there chica! I'm sorry no one showed up to your jam :( Maybe its the universe hinting to you that your at the point in your journey where you can work on reconnecting yourself and your hoop.
Comment by Traci "CircularPraise" Bonney on December 15, 2011 at 1:06pm Thanks for the encouragement, Theresa. I think maybe God is telling me I've strayed away from why I started hooping and I need to reconnect with that. :)

Hey Lady,
Hang in there and enjoy your "me" time and your hoop city friends. I know that I am super busy this wonderful time of year. We put the tree and the lights up the last couple of weekends and of course mailing letters, baking cookies, calling family (you know the drill). Have a Merry Christmas!
Comment by Traci "CircularPraise" Bonney on December 15, 2011 at 2:39pm Thanks, Rose. I appreciate the comments. I'm really busy right now too, mostly trying to finish crocheting Christmas presents and job hunting. I may have a job lined up for January, but I'm not sure yet, and that's contributing to my mood. Trying to stay positive though, and the hooping is helping. :)
