It's been so long since I've blogged. So many things have happened so I guess I will just get to the point! Since my last blog I have been going through foster parent training! We are almost done and could be potentially be placed any day now! I am so dang excited! I'm blogging about it at www.readytofoster.blogspot.com if anyone wants a peek into my journey thus far.

Yesterday I ordered 4 of hoopdrums quick wicks so pretty soon I will be a fire hooper! Whoa! I have never seen a fire hooper in person, so I'm going into this with no one to hold my hand. But that's the way my whole hoop journey has been so far so I'm pretty sure I can handle myself. But it's still super scarey! I am doing a performance for Relay for Life on June 4th and I've never even done it before! I'm sure it will be all fine and dandy, I just wish there was somebody here to help me!

I'm signed up on the website www.couchsurfing.com which is basically a site for people who can stay at a stranger's house while traveling. I recently got an email from this chick in Africa who saw that I was a hooper and she's staying in my town over the summer and wanted to hoop with me. Me=Beyond Elated. So I friended her on facebook and there was a comment from her mom (who lives here) telling her that she won her a hula hoop made by Lealyn! I had donated it to the Animal Welfare League and they auctioned it off and this girl's mom got it! Crazy small world huh?

The picture above was from a hooping photoshoot that my friend Tina did for me. It was such an amazing experience and I really recommend that everyone do this for themselves. It really doesn't have to be expensive if you don't have the photos printed and the pictures are something you will cherish always. Tina did mine for free because she wanted to add variety to her website since it was all wedding and family portraits. Just seek out a few photographers, email them some hooping shots and tell them you can help expand their portfolio!

Oh, one last thing! I entered to win the Hoop Convergence scholarship yesterday! I have mixed feelings about this! I just think it is so wonderful that they are doing it and of course I would love to win but I keep thinking that if I do win I would be surprised that there wasn't someone more deserving than myself! I look forward finding out who wins and reading about her story, cheering her on and finding out how much fun she had! Scholarships are just such an awesome thing! May the most deserving hooper win!

Well, that's all for today. It's a beautiful day for hooping. We haven't had one of those in a long time here so I've got to get out and enjoy it!!
