I love Saturdays. I love them for many reasons, but one of my main reasons currently is the fact that I sell hula hoops at the market. It's an early start... Up at 5:45 to be at my friends for 6:30. Setup at 7 and market shoppers start arriving around 8. But it's all worth it.

I love talking with people and listening to their stories. I love sharing my passion for hula hooping and watching new hoopers become hooked. It truly fills my heart.

Today my heart was filled to the brim. I beat my old record and sold 15 hoops! That's right. 15 people walked away with hula hoops that I had spent hours creating, designing and decorating. Each piece of tape was lovingly applied... it's an awesome feeling.

I don't know what I'll do when the market finishes because winter has arrived... But you can bet I'll be waiting for when the gates open next May. =)

In my bedroom held my boom box. Loud music would draw my angry step father towards my room. But I had to dance, so from a young age I would take a few preventable beatings so I could dance in my bedroom. Pretending I'm dancing on stage with Brain Setzer, I had trained myself to ingore reality while I dance. Even…
