well yesterday was the day i had challenged myself to public hoop...
saturday came and went, and although i made sure i had my hoop with me in
my truck while out doing chores, alas i did not pull it out.
even though i lost the challenge it is far from over..
i am determined to succeed and i know if i carry it with me at all times it WILL happen..
looking at my chalk board i see that i had written "you can do it !"...i have changed it to
"I can do it !"... power of the word and all..
had to write this in my journal..there is no hiding...i really find it difficult to
believe being a strong willed person, that i have such a hard time with this..
i am regrouping ...

this doesnt make you a loser...if thats what your title is in reference to :( I think your motivation makes you the opposite...just because we miss deadlines or goals doesnt make us any less of what we are than when we started

Aw. Don't feel like a loser and I'm sure you're not a scaredy pants either! You just need a wee confidence boost!

It kinda bums me out when hooping with a group there can be this competitive vibe. I've met other hoopers (few and far between in Taiwan, mind you) who will watch me and then ask, "What tricks can you do? Yeah, I can do that one, and this one and this other one". While positive competitive spirit can help you improve and grow, when it becomes the main focus I find it creates a negative vibe. When I'm with hoopers who want to show they're better than others in the group I feel it dirties the organic, beautiful and positive nature of hooping. I don't think it's about being the best, I think it's about feeling good and creating positive energy for yourself and those around you regardless of ability level. (Not saying your situation is like this this, but perhaps guessing at why you're nervous to hoop in public? Either way, I felt this way at a recent festival where I was spinning fire... and it's been bothering me too!)
