Ok so I recently started using small, light tubing (125psi/1.5in) and loving it. And I've been looking forward to the days of multi-hooping for well... since prob a little after I started hooing last year! :-) So I made myself a set of hoops for multi hooping. They are purtty and make me happy. But I haven't been able to do anything with them for a while... except maybe hooping all 3 at once on my waist or hooping with one and then holding the other in my hand. Even that was hard at first!! hehe Aparently when it comes to hooping my brain has a really really hard time with giving it a second hoop command. ;-P I've been playing with minis for a few months, which has been really hard, too.... but I think the two are connected in that I'm telling my body to do two different things at once... be it mini/poi hoopin in my hands or multi-hooping with bigger hoops... it's all the same problem. :-) So it seems every little try helps my brain a little bit more.

I've taken a break from the minis and have tried desperately to be able to spin two hoops on my bod at once (in dif places. And it's proved to be damn right impossible. I found that I could knee hoop and spin a hoop in lasso. And man... that took forever! But it was bringing me closer. My nomansland was my core... hips/waist and chest. I couldn't combine any of it. I even tried waist hooping while hand hooping. And I can kinda do it... sometimes. ;-) But mostly I hold the hoop over my head and when I try to spin it the other hoop stops completely and drops. hehe

So yesterday I was at our OC hoop jam and playing around with my multi hoops. I can now treat all three as one and spin on my waist and shimmy up for shoulder/chest hooping and place them on and off my body. So that's cool. But I really wanted to spin one at my waist and one at my chest. I was trying to the amusement of my cohorts. hehe but no go. Then upon seeing Joda twiling away no prob with her reg size hoops... I thought what the hey... I'll try my big ole hoops (I had brought some for begs to try). I did and .... I did! Well sort of, for a few mini seconds! But it was awesome!!!!! So I went home and tried again with my first 2 hoops (which I haven't used in months and months!) Large diameter and heavier... 160 and I think 120 psi. And after a few tries, I did it over and over! I could waist and chest hoop with 2 big 'ol heavy hoops at once!!! Woot Woot! I couldn't believe it.

I gave it another go today and was able to get the reverse current down too! And then I decided to try my little light hoops again... hoping the muscle memory would work.... and after a few trys it did!! I look absolutely rediculous doing it... spinning around aimlessly... arms flailing... legs spread wide... and doing this wierd hip/chest, hip/chest wave thingy to keep it going hehe
But I can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yaaay!

Just thought I'd share. :-)

Yay Lulu! Multis are HARD! And in reverse current!!! Amazing! I can barely waist hoop in my reverse current. Great job!

Spider baby, my small light ones are about 37, I think. And the big heavy ones are around 40 inches. And going from 1/2 to 3/4 in (160psi) makes a big difference in the learning curve. I haven't used a heavy hoop since I graduated from basic waist hooping. I prefer a lighter one (100psi) for everything else... but my body needed to be retrained agian. So bigger was better! :-)

Lindsey, ya reverse current can be hard if you don't spend equal time (well... more time) with it. Since the beginning I've made a point to learn and to practice everything both ways. I love breaks and switching it up! :-) It takes longer in my second current to get things... some like duck outs, I still dont' have... and I usually have to conciously spend more time in my second current (and it's not as much fun). But it really pays off. Thanks for the nice comment! :-D
