I was diagnosed with MD when I was about 15. The form I was diagnossed with is called Charcot Maarie Tooth Disorder (CMT). It is a form of MD where the mylan coating around your nerves and your muscles deteriorate over time. Having CMT means I can't build muscle and my nerves aren't very receptive. I can't run or jump. I can jump about as high as you could if you didn't bend your knees first; and that's with using all of my force lol. I struggled through every activity I ever took on. I always had to work 10 times harder than the average person to be able to do just the basic skills. Colorguard was my world in highschool and it saddened me that I couldn't continue durring college. I never thought something could bring me as much happieness as the hoop. It's so freeing. With other sports I was constantly reminded that I was being held back. Hooping allows me to reach my full potential, aside from horizontal jump throughs! LOL! Hooping makes me feel abnormally normal. I feel like I can do anything.

I'm so glad that you have been able to get passed the disadvantages in life. Your struggle has been worth it as long as you are happy.

Happy Hooping love
