What I love about hoopcity is the ability to talk about hoop stuff to people who understand.
So here I go.....

I have been wanting an LED hoop since burning man, well really since I started hooping. I m a college student I do not have the ability to afford a LED hoop. My friends are so AWESOME that they all pooled money together to help me buy a LED hoop! I was so excited! I decided to buy a Cosmic hoop because they received such a good rating on hoopcity. I received my hoop around Feburary 1st, it came in a coiled position, which surprised me, but I figured that was the easiest way to ship it. I carefully uncoiled my new hoop and start hooping. I was to excited and in such a hoop bliss I couldn't even wait for the sun to go down! That night I 'took my hoop for a walk' we hooped about five blocks downtown, stopped at a house party to hoop some more and the hooped home. It was so much fun and I was so excited to finally have an LED hoop! I love the hoop too because it was quite, for instances when you are doing reversals or breaks you do not hear the LED's rattling inside the hoop. I loved my hoop and treated it better then a child, it was like my baby! I avoided rain, puddles and I never dropped it hard.
Later on in the month I meet up with two other hoopers and we formed the Indigo Flow Hoop Troop. We had a performance on March 6th and put over 30 hours into our routine. I changed my hoop for over two hours before going on stage to make sure it would be as bright as possible. 10 minutes before going on stage my hoop was not lighting up. I tried to plug it back in to see if there was something wrong with the battery. 5 minutes before going on stage my hoop was still not working. I ended up performing with my LED hoop but no lights. Everyone noticed, people in the audience yelled 'turn your hoop on' and 'your hoop is not on'.....to say the least it threw me off and ruined the quality of our performance.
I contacted Rob from Cosmic hoops and he said he would cover the shipping cost and fix my hoop. I was excited to hear that my hoop will be back in action soon.

Now here is the problem:
In order to make my hoop fit back in the box Rob sent my hoop in, I need to coil down my hoop. I have never attempted to coil down my hoop. The tubing is VERY FRAGILE!!! And the tubing is not covered on the warranty. I emailed Rob asking for directions on how to properly coil down my hoop. I followed his directions to the T but it was just not working....every time I try and coil down my hoop to fit in the box my tubing bends! I M SO SO FRUSTRATED! IDK what to do.

So in all....
I had my dream LED hoop for a month and then it failed me right before my first performance. Cosmic Hoop was very understanding and offered everything they can to fix it, but I can't get the damn thing back in the box without bending the tubing!!!!

....i guess i should have saved more $$ and gone with PSI hoops....
.......thanks for listening/reading.......
Happy hooping!

Can you wrap it in bubble wrap? That is how I received my LED Hoop via Fed Ex. Hope you are able to get your hoop fixed.

What sizing tubing did you get from Cosmic Hooper? I have one that is 7/8'' (outer diameter) that hasn't kinked its tubing when I collapsed it (I've only done it once or twice so far for traveling purposes).

I collapse mine by pressing the release button/pulling the connector part out. Then I gently hold the bottom arc of the hoop underneath my toes I take the ends & bend them around, flip over - & then slowly move it so it aligns into the quick release button connector again.

Good luck!

So an update:
I ended up sending it back with a kink in it, but because of all the frustration, Rob replaced it. This experience was difficult but Cosmic Hooper was nothing but understanding, and helped in every way possible. I really do love my Cosmic Hoop and feel it was a good purchase discussion, it just sucked that it malfunctioned at such an important time. I can't wait to get my hoop back from Rob and start hooping.

Happy Hooping!
