* Knee hurt a little, practiced after dinner and gave it a good stretch along with other stretches. It didn't hurt after stretching/warm up

Since my knee was hurting, I decided to do a pretty light practice. I was going to do primarily hand hooping, but my hoop is too big/heavy for a lot of hand work, so I scrapped that and decided to work on my off-direction hooping. Which is terrible.

It was a lot like learning to hoop again and reminded me of how terrible I was at the beginning. Now it's easy for me to recover and dance back into the hoop with some off-body moves, even though I don't know any tricks and still can't reliably shoulder or knee hoop. But wow I am terrible at my off-direction (which for me is hooping to the right). I'm going to be bruised all over again. It's a good experience, though, to have at the beginning of this 'learn tricks and technique' journey. It reminds me that things that once felt impossible, I now do as a matter of course.

I also seem to have accidentally figured out a step out, since the hoop was moving so slow and I was trying to save my hardwood floors from the scuff of the vinyl tape! I practiced it slow several times in both directions and will keep at it.

Still can't hoop to the right, though. :-/ I could go a few revolutions before I lost it (though my leg automatically tried to knee hoop to recover!).

Overall: 40 minutes of good practice, but a definite off day.

I had a traumatic knee injury (I fell on a freshly mopped dance floor!) and dislocated my kneecap a couple of years ago, so I still sometimes have twinges from that-- usually stretching and warming up helps! Those ligaments and tendons are *still* recovering/tightening back up.

Getting hurt as an adult sucks!

Thanks for the encouragement :)
