Last night, I had a great night with my girls. I was putting myself out of my element, but keeping an open mind, and I had the best time. We went out for some fancy cocktails, and then were heading to a dance party to hoop it up during our DJ friend's set. The party was happening at a club in this semi-industrial area. While looking for it, we met these guys who were partying in this air conditioning shop right on the road. They invited us in, put music on their amazing stereo system, and let us hoop it up in their giant open air garage shop like spot. One of the guys is having a benefit in January and promised he is going to book us to perform for it. The party we were going to ended up getting canceled, so we drank beer and listen to vinyl and hooped with these random guys. It was total serendipity though because these were the type of people I needed to meet in Hawaii. People with connections. Hawaii is all about who you know.

Hooping is really not that popular in Hawaii. There is interest, but there hasnt been much interest among my generation. I am hoping that these new friends of ours will get us hooked up in the younger nightlife scene so we can start to garner interest in classes and in our performance troupe.
