so i have decided after reading all the posts people have written about over coming their shyness that i am going to break through the mental block !! i have posted short pieces of tricks but never a full video.. i have hooped in my yard where no one can see me..but mostly hoop in my house..i have hooped in front of my boyfriend (who lives with me ) and a couple friends ..so i am going to take my hoop some where and hoop even if there are other people...ESPECIALLY if there are.
i will set a time limit for myself..when video is due and when i WILL go out in public.
i have been inspired by the positive stories and also by the friendly competition group..i want to participate but couldn't take the pressure just yet..lol i know silly but this is a tough one...
so here it is a friendly competition with myself...public hooping on ....November 13...next Saturday...ok...i will do it..lol sweating already..
I will post a full video at least 3 mins long by.... December 1st.
the gauntlet has been thrown here publicly and i accept the challenge..lol.
i can do this....i can do this...that might be my new mantra for a few weeks..better put it up on the chalk board.

you can do it!! I know it sounds scary, but it really isn't. Once you do it, you'll be like "This is what I was so afraid of?" I used to be freaked out by hooping in public too, but I've hooped at festivals, parties, parks, etc. For the most part, people are really kind and usually interested to learn more about hooping. Bring an extra hoop or 2 and see if you can get some people to join in! :) Good luck and have fun!

Good luck! Public hooping is not as scary as it sounds, believe me. I'm extremely shy, I've hooped in public several times and it's really nothing you should be afraid of. I've heard some nice comments and some rude ones, but don't let the latter get to you. I usually just laugh at them. And most people don't even notice you are there.

I haven't done any videos yet either...
I have only been hooping a few months, so I think I want to wait till I'm a little better at it, or have a few more moves & flow....
YOU CAN DO IT!
and so can I!!!! :)
they guys at work are always asking me, I don't think I'm ready for it to be a spectator sport yet....

I have to agree with Ola. 9 times out of ten people take one look at me and ignore me. (which I am thankful for.) I have never had anyone walk up to me and talk to me about it, or even try it with me.
You will do great and I know it. :) Just remember to breathe and no matter what you do you are awesome.
(Thats what I tell myself all the time...it works pretty well.) :)

thanks everyone... i am feeling scared but your encouraging words help...it is silly to be so shy at my age... no one is looking at me ... no one will care if i am hooping in the park... they have there own stuff to do..i will remember to breath...and i will hoop for at least 1/2 an hour there..if i don't give a time limit then i know i will spin for a min and flee the scene lol..
