My back hurts.  Bad.  I hurt it this week.  Not sure what happened... I think when I went to my 5 year olds school for literacy day that I maybe messed it up bending down... or maybe when he jumped up on me there.  Not sure, but oooh maaaaan! My back hurt!

I made an emergency apt with my chiro that I've been seeing for years and I promise that the only other time I've felt this type of pain recently was when I was tboned by the semi.

I haven't been able to hoop for four days and I'm just dying.  :( :(  It is such a piece of who I am and does it ever takes its toll when you can't use that precious circle to just melt your day away.

I'm hoping later today or tomorrow I can give it a go... at least gently.  I'll use a bigger hoop and avoid my cute little hoop that has become my fav.  I'll use slower movements until I'm 100%.

It is important I finish by saying it is wonderful that I have something that I look forward to do everyday... just for myself.  Life is good with a hoop.

Maybe rest and let it heal. I recommend putting a yoga mat on the floor and try to rest flat on your back with a quilt over you for as long as you can manage. That always helps my back. In the meantime, watch videos. You can learn a lot from watching, even when you can't do and I'm pretty sure it triggers a lot of the same places in your brain. (I know it does for golfers and pitchers who have been studied both watching and doing. The brain looks the same.) Take care of yourself and get well. Don't let a little tweak become a bigger issue. Take time to heal. Feel better soon!

Thanks Caroleeena. =) I did some stretching today and took it pretty easy and I'm feeling better. I will brave the hoop tomorrow. You know... I can feel something big coming on. I think this break is giving my mind some time to go over the moves I know and mentally prepare for a few I've been attempting.
I understand exactly what you mean about getting better by visualizing. I used to pole vault (a highly technical sport as you can imagine) and I always improved in the off season because I would run through jumps in my mind. The mind is very powerful.
Much love to you and your caring ways.
