Yeah. I'm hopeless!

My job sucked me into a pretty deep hole back in March, emotionally speaking. I finally snapped and got a new one, so that's awesome. Steady paychecks, daylight hours...it's fab. But it's taken time to adjust.

Working on hoop projects - I just helped Blythe of Punk Rock Moves put on a couple of demo sets this last weekend at the Wildflower Music Festival. SO AWESOME. Apparently I CAN be good at selling things as long as those things are hooping related!

Also I can hoop, walk, and speak enthusiastically into a microphone all at once, I found out. Oh, the hidden talents we never know we have.

Serenhoopity is on schedule to open its metaphorical doors in July, which is both exciting and terrifying. My best friend is excited, I am terrified. But doing this will hopefully lead to us being able to get certified as hoop instructors, and...honestly, a lot of things have been happening lately that make me feel like this is the inevitable next step. So I am, however scarily, taking it.

I am also gearing up to go to Hoop Path Retreat, very VERY excited about that.

And - and here I can use help - a friend of mine who is an experienced hypnotist wants to put together a Hoopnosis program. He has had success using hypnotherapy on belly dancers in order to help them unlock their improvisational skills, conquer stage fright, and aid in general discipline. I thought that hoop dancers could use similar assistance, so I am working with him on it.

I thought for sure that hoopers would be into this - I know I could use help being able to access flow more easily, to improvise at will, to ditch Chicken Arms, and to get into a better daily practice discipline. Can anyone think of anything else that might be useful? Would anyone be interested in workshops? That last is most useful for Texas hoopers, but I'd still like to gauge interest.

I'll be the guinea pig for the program as we work out kinks. Don't let that stop you from making suggestions! I really would like people to be interested in this. I've known Jim Hazlerig for several years and have allowed him to hypnotize me. He is good and ethical. If you want more info on him or you want to see testimonials, he is at Harmony Hypnosis.

Whew.

And of course, I have a hoopiversary video due.

INSANITY. But never forget I adore you all. Even as I neglect you. Shame on me.
