I'm not doing it this year.  All gifts given have been made by hand, by me.  It's good, it limits the number of people who I will give gifts to and not to say i don't care about them, but it seems to me that the word "gift" has lost all meaning.  People can be so thoughtless when it comes to gifts...or cards.

People who sign their name to the same card 50 times and then mail it to everyone in their address book...where's the thought?  And I'm always left feeling a little numb to the fact that people sign "with love" ...really?  You love me so much, you thought to buy a piece of paper with a christmas picture of some snow covered cabin in minnesota already on it and a generic phrase like "hoping your holiday is red and green" or something as equally dreadful, then sloppily writing you and your husbands name, because he's probably too busy checking to see if the timers for your over-the-top christmas light display are set correctly.

Malarky.

Ok, I'm ranting.  But i feel it's completely justified.

Christmas sucks, and that's final.

Everyday you should be giving real gifts to people. Not just on birthdays and holidays.  Help restore the true meaning of "gift" and share an experience with someone!  They're the things that words can only suggest.  Be kind to people.  Feed people only the dankity, dank-danka-saurus-rex dank food.  Make a hula hoop for someone you love!

Now that's a good gift :)

I am not into xmas at all this year, either! My boyfriend and I agreed not to get each other anything because money is so tight. I am making my friend a hula hoop, and that's about it. I really don't like shopping that much anymore either. I don't think I've been in a mall in years!

I hear this completely. This holiday has become so over hyped and commercialized it's horrible, and everyone seems to be even crankier this year. I deal with rude people all day long at my job and I still keep a smile on my face. All I can say is I am for once ready for the new year! lol Keep your chin up, it's almost over!

Rose--

its not an issue of bad attitude and me needing to calm down.  I'm surprised everyone isn't this upset
