I am very excited to announce that I will be teaching hoopdance at Hooping University! Hooping University is an online treasury of hoop instruction with curricula by some of the best hoop dancers and instructors in the world. I feel so honored to have been asked to participate in this project.

These are not 10 minute youtube vids but half hour intensives on every aspect of hooping you can imagine.  I reviewed the site and I feel really good about encouraging people to enroll. Here's why:

- The content is incredible. Incredible!!! I still haven't gotten through it all but I'm blown away. I have learned a lot already and I am an experienced hoopdancer.

- There is a lot of content -- over 100 videos by some of the best teachers in the world.

- The Professors! -  Anah Reichenbach (Hoopalicious), Diana Lopez, Julia (Jewels) Hartsell, Spiral, Sharna Rose, Paul DizzyHips Blair, Bunny HoopStar, Sharna Rose and Rainbow Michael.

- The site allows us to upload 30 minutes of content at a time and Instructors upload at least 30 minutes of new teaching each month.

- Thirty minutes will allow me to demonstrate moves, explain principles and concepts, troubleshoot problem areas, create drills we can do together (or you can practice along with later), explore technique, integrate dance and add flair.

- Hooping University is very reasonably priced. Three months for $50! You can't afford NOT to buy that! (But good luck getting through all the content in just three months!)

This is an excellent course of study for people who don't have access to teachers in their area, or who want to augment their learning with a wide variety of teachers, or who want to study with any one of the amazing teachers participating.

I will continue to make my youtube tutorials, in fact, I have set a goal to do one a month throughout 2011, but I am excited to have an opportunity to teach in a more in-depth and organized way, like were learning together from step one! I am pumped that I get to share things like my stretching routine and warm-ups and cool downs. I am also very excited to be able to create curricula that includes the study of dance concepts. I am into that but it takes longer to explain than the 10 minutes youtube gives me. I still plan to make a teaching dvd but who knows when that will happen? This can happen right now!

This is an incredible opportunity to go much deeper, to put it all together, to skill-build and then integrate aspects of dance. I am very excited about this. I hope you'll join me.

I am honored and humbled to teach at Hooping University. I promise to try to bring something unique and excellent and fun. I am working on my first class right now and I hope to have it up this weekend. I can't wait to share it with you!

That's awesome, Caroleeena!  You are definitely qualififed for this gig, lady!  I've been contemplaing Hoop U for awhile, but I didn't know if I could justify the cost considering I have so many other resources - Sandra's classes, a Hoop Dee Doo subscription, and almost every hoop DVD out there (not to mention YouTube, Vimeo, Hoop City).  However, if you're finding content you think is valuable, I'm quite sure that I (a hooper with far less skill and experience as you) could benefit. You may have pushed me over the edge!

What an incredible opportunity for you - and others as they get to learn from you as well! Very exciting news.

That's great! While I don't feel that I've explored other resources fully yet. I have found that some instructional stuff hard for me to follow and maybe that's because of my belly dancing background or my size/round/short or my stiffness/inflexibility (no acrobatics going on here.) You're my fav youtube instructor and I watch your tutorials repeatedly. So I'm tempted just because you'll have what I imagine is great stuff on there! I'll give it some serious thought now! Thanks!
