This entry is pretty long and detailed. It's mostly so I can remember how I learned the three beat weave.

I missed writing about week two. I skipped taking notes that week and almost immediately forgot the names of everything we worked on. I think we continued to work on our planes and began working on the two beat weave and also swinging the hoops in front of and behind our heads. I have no idea what it's called, but it looks awesome. I am okay at doing it with twins, but with minis I'm still struggling to keep them on wall plane.

Week three I took notes again (I won't skip on taking notes from now on) and we worked on chase (two beat) weave and playing with doing it really small and really big. We also worked on breaks/reversals with the chase weave. It looks pretty cool and it was easy to pick up.

Nina finished up the teaching portion with some work on isolation's. She spoke about points of reference. When using minis the distance apart of the hoops is a point of reference (is the distance consistent) and choosing a spot to focus on and keeping the top of the hoop lined up with it. Isolation's look awesome, but I am not very motivated to work on them since they lack the "aha" moment and just gradually get more smooth. Nina and another person in the class are so good at them.

This week I found the pace of the class a bit slow. I could already do the chase weave prior to this class and I think that's why. I also love the class so much that I basically never want to set my minis down, so that might also be apart of the reason I am picking things up so early in the week and then not having much to work on until the next class.

When I got home from the class I decided I wanted a challenge and decided to learn the three beat weave. I can do it with poi and it's a lot of fun. So I learned it. I started with transferring the hoops on my thumbs because I found it easier to just focus on the flow of it without worrying too much about the constant surface transferring that happens otherwise. Once I got the timing down with transferring it on my thumbs, I switched to the constant surface transfers.

It felt amazing to learn the three beat weave. I sometimes experience ASMR (http://www.asmr-research.org/) and it happened both times I got the weave down (thumbs/surface transfers).

Once I managed to do the weave forwards, I decided to learn it backwards. I learned it backwards on poi first. It's super fun to be able to turn with poi. I spent about a hour today working on the surface transfers with a hoop. I did it one hand at a time and then tonight I managed to do the backward three beat weave. It's still not very smooth, and the plane gets wonky on my left hand, but I can do it. I can turn between forward and backwards yet, but I think I'll learn that tomorrow. It feels pretty good to be motivated like this.

The class has ignited a love of minis and of poi. I'm excited to see what we will be working on tomorrow.

(I am so tired and I didn't proof read)
