What a time to have hooping in my life...

... because i'm very sure that I wouldn't have survived this on my own. At all.

This past Saturday, my boyfriend of almost 6 months decided to tell me that he wanted to break up with me, because he hadn't been in love with me for the past 2 months of our relationship and had been lying to himself AND me about it and feigning affection. I kind of saw it coming, but when it did, it was like a tornado had come along and ripped up a piece of my life by the roots, taking ragged pieces of me with it.
I've been walking around in a daze. I gave up so much for him. he was the one boy that I deemed worthy enough to move in with, maybe to share a life with, but he dropped it all to the ground and it shattered into a million sharp pieces. So, I up and left.
What else could I really do?
I moved into York hall, and i have to say that from 2 years of living in patch, traveling the world, and living off campus, I cannot readily say that I enjoy it... It's a dorm room: cramped, badly-lit, I have to walk down a hallway in the morning past boys with my makeup smudged and my hair a puff ball, and even though I LOVE lovelove my roomie, I still don't really like that part either.
So, safe to say,.. i've been struggling lol. It's either I eat too much, or not enough, or seeing a dog makes me burst into tears(my boyfriends dog was the sweetest dog in the entire world), or just being alone makes me tear up.
So in the midst of all this, i've been hooping. Glorious, spinning, transcendent, full-of-light hooping. And, it has been the only thing to truly bring a smile to my face for the past week, and when i'm hooping, nothing else matters. I don't even remember Rick and all of his bullshit. Nothing. Nothing but the spinning, and spinning, and spinning...

So thank you all of you, for being the beautiful hoopers that you are!! I know that it has made my life go from a living hell, to a living dream :-D

im sorry to hear about your breakup..those are never easy no matter how long u are with the person! Its good to know that at the end of the day if you have nothing else to come home to, you still have your little round friend to play with and make u happy no matter what:)

I'm sorry, breakups are never fun or easy. Hooping is great for taking your mind off of things though. And its great exercise, which releases endorphins, which will cheer you up. There are plenty of guys in the world.

Hey girl, sorry to hear you are sad and having a hard time of it. I'm glad my hoop is helping. Remember that this happened for a reason. You aren't meant to be with him. You are meant to do what you are doing right now. Explore yourself, explore your hoop, explore your studies, connect with your roomate, connect with your hoop, connect with your you. You have everything you need inside you. Look forward to the next adventure and be happy for the expirience you had with this guy. If you need time to grieve, do so. But just remember you are supposed to be here now, and not there, that was then. (Hope that makes sense)

Ooo... you should rent a video camera from the library and record a clip of you hooping on campus for us all to see!! Purrrrrty please! :-D

I am so sorry to hear that you are having a hard time.

The great news is that you are still able to find peace and joy when you are dancing in the circle! Whenever your feelings begin to get overwhelming... pick up your hoop and hoop the negative emotions away. Use your hoop as your outlet... it will make you feel more connected to your hoop too!

Everyone says this when people go through a break up, but things always happen for a reason. If your ex did not want to 100% of his effort into the relationship then you deserve better... someone who will appreciate you and not take you for granted.

*hugs*
