This video represents my latest obsession with expanding the space Within--between the core and the revolving hoop--as well as my new experiments playing Without--in the space surrounding the revolving hoop. I will be teaching about these concepts at the 4th annual HoopPath Retreat here in NC this June, and at HoopCamp in Santa Cruz in September.

The song is a cover of the Blu Cantrell hit "Hit Em Up Style" performed the magnificent African-American string band the Carolina Chocolate Drops. They have played a tremendously important role in reviving this piece of the history of black music: banjo, folk, fiddle tunes and jigs. They draw much of their source material from right around my home in North Carolina and I love them to distraction!

You are amazing...and amazingly ripped!! You flow is very inspirational too. Your video made me realize that I need to connect more with my hoop and use the space. I wish I could go to HoopPath to learn from you this summer. I love how you incorporate your arms. Gives me a lot to think about...
