Once you learn how to control your muscles , you will be able to dance in a smooth and fluid way throughout all ranges of motion and to any type of music. I teach Pilates in all my dance and hoop classes and these exercises help to achieve this. "Control" is one of the principles in pilates ...because there should be no sloppy, involuntary, jerky, or hurried movements.
