A year ago I could barely keep a hoop at my waist. 12 months later, this is how far I've come. Thank you for watching :)

Comment by Shasta Lee on June 19, 2012 at 8:17am damn girl. that was extremely impressive.
i love a lot of the stuff that you do.
not sure if you already answered this or not but what kind/size hoop is that?
Comment by MayaAya on May 25, 2012 at 6:12pm Awesome...you are totally connected to the hoop!
Comment by beth lavinder on May 2, 2012 at 8:41pm Really yummy! Love how you roll your body into the hoop on the barrel rolls and the "feel" you have for the hoop. You have so many interesting variations and tricks beautifully embedded in your flow.
Comment by Kelly Kerner on April 22, 2012 at 2:03pm So happy to inspire! I love poi... it's my comfort zone, and I never would have picked up a hoop if I hadn't started spinning poi. Hooping has changed the way I feel about myself and life in general, as well as taught me a lot about who I am. I can't really say which one I love more, I just love them for different reasons. I definitely had to work harder to be able to flow freely with a hoop than I did with poi, which made it that much more rewarding. Stick with it and love the process, flow is general is hands down the best thing I have ever done for myself :)
I do have a question for you, I just thought of. Do you love hooping as much as poi. I loved the poi as I felt they didn't get in my way of expressing myself in dance through the music I'd be spinning to, they just enhanced whatever emotion I was feeling through the dance. With the hoop being so big and with it demanding my attention (ie, it's heavy and I have to spin my body a certain way all the time), I find my freeflow expression impossible (I feel a slave to it's motion, probably because I'm so new at this). I assume it will come with time, just curious your experience here with poi vs hoop. Thanks again! I haven't done anything for myself in 5 years, so I'm excited to be doing this!
Thanks for sharing. I need to find more time to practice like you, only 4 weeks in so far, but inspiring to see what's possible in 1 year! Very very good. I used to spin poi too, not for 3 years, but I loved it, and I'm hoping to love hooping as much. But, you inspired me to pick them both up again. I enjoyed it! Thanks.

oh my goshhhh! this is soo goood! give me a year and ill be like you , hopefully <3

wow what beautiful flow. Excellent breaks and back rolls. I was amazed!!!
